ROUND 1

#1 Tennessee Titans – Cam Ward (QB, Miami)

The Titans need a QB and their moves in free agency point towards them drafting one. Cam Ward is the best QB in the draft and Brian Callahan gets his new Joe Burrow. If this move doesn’t work out, Callahan will probably get fired.

#2 Cleveland Browns – Abdul Carter (EDGE, Penn State)

Despite the Browns keeping Myles Garret, they take an EDGE to create a duo that will wreck havoc for offenses for years to come. Abdul Carter is the best player in this draft class and the Browns decide to take him.

#3 NY Giants – Jaxson Dart (QB, Ole Miss)

The Giants are clearly desperate to take a QB. They need to. Everybody knows it and they aren’t going to wait until the second round to do it. Despite the lack of top tier QB talent in this draft class, the Giants pull the trigger on Jaxson Dart. He is a high ceiling prospect with sneaky good athletic abilities. This will make or break whether Brian Daboll and Joe Schoen are fired.

#4 New England Patriots – Travis Hunter (CB, Colorado)

The Patriots are elated to find the second best player in the draft (arguably the best) fall to #4. This is an easy and obvious pick. Hunter can be a dynamic WR when they need him to be and the Patriots need a lot of offensive help. Or he can be a lock down corner. A+ pick right here for the Patriots.

#5 Jacksonville Jaguars – Tyler Warren (TE, Penn State)

After cutting Evan Engram, the Jaguars pull the trigger on Tyler Warren. Warren is a complete TE and one of the best players in this entire draft class. He can help block to boost their run game or be a #1 target in their offense. The Jaguars do have Brian Thomas Jr., so he will most likely be the number #2 option for Trevor Lawrence.

#6 Las Vegas Raiders – Ashton Jeanty (RB, Boise State)

This is a Pete Carroll pick. Pete talks about how important running the football is and he gets arguably the best pound-for-pound player in the draft at #6. Pairing Jeanty with Bowers and Geno could create a dangerous offense for the Raiders. They won’t be contenders but could be a playoff team if their star players can stay healthy. That’s assuming their coaching is good. I’m don’t have a lot of faith in their new OC Chip Kelly.

#7 NY Jets – Armand Membou (OT, Missouri)

Coming from the Lions, new HC Aaron Glenn knows how important an offensive line is and decides to take the best offensive linemen in the draft. He can play OT or OG so he is flexible. Membou is also very athletic and a mauler. This is a step in the right direction for the Jets.

#8 Carolina Panthers – Mason Graham (DT, Michigan)

I am a HUGE fan of HC Dave Canales and what he is doing with the Panthers. Canales took the Panthers offense from one of the worst in the beginning of the year, helped save Bryce Young’s career, and then turned the offense into a very competitive group. However, their defense is appalling. They just signed (and overpaid) some decent defensive players but they still need help. With Graham’s short arms, he falls to #8 but fits nicely next to DT Derrick Brown.

#9 New Orleans Saints – Jalon Walker (LB/EDGE, Georgia)

Jalon Walker is the perfect description of a DAWG. A leader, a fierce competitor, and a force on the football field. Walker is a very versatile player and can play both LB and EDGE which allows for some defensive creativity. I’m not a big believer in new HC Kellen Moore, but he definitely understands the importance of a good defense, coming from the Super Bowl winning Eagles. Walker should provide a needed spark to the defense.

#10 Chicago Bears – Omarion Hampton (RB, UNC)

This pick just makes sense. The Bears could use an upgrade at RB after remaking their entire offensive line (which was genius). A couple of years after successfully taking Jahmyr Gibbs in the first round with the Lions, Ben Johnson attempts to recreate that success with Omarion Hampton. Hampton has been rapidly rising up draft boards and will likely be taken in the first #15 picks. He can be described as dynamic, versatile, and athletic. Sounds like Ben Johnson’s type of player. I’m very excited to watch the Bears this season and hopefully see the Caleb Williams magic everyone has been expecting. They will be a playoff team this year. Probably 10-11 wins in the regular season.

#11 San Francisco 49ers – Jahdae Barron (CB, Texas)

My second favorite player in the draft. Another DAWG. He reminds me of a combination of Cooper Dejean and Devin Witherspoon. Barron is an excellent run defender and clearly a good coverage guy (he won the award for best college CB). Scouts feared he isn’t fast enough to play CB but put those fears to bed by running a sub 4.4 forty yard dash at the Combine. After losing so much talent this offseason, the 49ers would be off to an excellent start by replacing Charvarius Ward with a stud like Barron. Could be a steal here.

#12 Dallas Cowboys – Jihaad Campbell (LB, Alabama)

My favorite player in the draft. Campbell is a hard-hitting, versatile ball player. A DAWG. He can cover, he can defend the run, he can rush off the edge. What can’t he do? Campbell could be a total steal here. He is very athletic and built like a tank. I’m shocked he isn’t higher on most people’s draft boards. Pairing Campbell with a guy like Micah Parsons would be unbelievable. This is Jerry Jones opportunity to fix his defense and turn the Cowboys back into contenders.

#13 Miami Dolphins – Will Campbell (OG, LSU)

The Dolphins need offensive linemen. There is no reason to wait any longer with guys like Will Campbell and Tyler Booker still on the board. Campbell is highly athletic but I wouldn’t describe him as a mauler which is what I look for in offensive linemen. He needs to get more aggressive but he is overall a good player.

#14 Indianapolis Colts – Colston Loveland (TE, Michigan)

This is Shane Steichen’s last chance to keep his head coaching job. The Colts decide to pick Loveland, an underrated TE prospect who will be at the top of NFL draft boards. Loveland will give Anthony Richardson a dynamic target to boost their offense. Obviously, TE is a position the Colts desperately need and this pick just makes sense.

#15 Atlanta Falcons – Donovan Ezeiruaku (EDGE, Boston College)

Donovan is such an all around good player. He is great against the run, good at pass rush, great measurables (arm length), great athleticism, and a good leader. The Falcons clearly need some defensive, especially on the D-line. Why not take the top EDGE left on their board? Every other top pass rusher has some issue like James Pearce Jr. and his character or Mykel Williams and his production.

#16 Arizona Cardinals – Will Johnson (CB, Michigan)

After missing most of his final college season injured, Will Johnson has been falling down scouts draft boards. Johnson is still a great player and could be a lock down CB at the next level. He has the size and coverage skills. It’s just his run defense and speed that are question marks. This would be a great pick for Arizona as they struggle to get out of mediocrity.

#17 Cincinnati Bengals – Mykel Williams (DE, Georgia)

Providing much needed help on a struggling defense, the Bengals would be ecstatic about this pick. Williams would replace Sam Hubbard, a very solid DE for the Bengals. While Williams has high upside, his lack of production in college is concerning. Otherwise, he ticks all of the boxes for a DE and could be a game changer at the next level.

#18 Seattle Seahawks – Tyler Booker (OG, Alabama)

Booker is a great player. Some of the best OG tape since Quenton Nelson. However, his draft stock fell a bit after a poor testing performance at the Combine. Although, he looked excellent in the on-field drills. Bookers leadership is the thing that really stands out about him. He is someone I would describe as a mauler and forcefully attacks defenders. Despite his below average athleticism for a zone scheme, I still think Booker has the tools necessary to thrive and give a horrible O-line some juice. Especially since the Seahawks could not address their O-line in free agency, they are almost forced to take an OG in the first round. I wouldn’t critcize the GM or front office too much because they had such a good off season in other areas. Check out my Seahawks free agency review for more on this.

#19 Tampa Bay Buccaneers – Nick Emmanwori (S, South Carolina)

Nick Emmanwori is such an exciting prospect and one Tampa Bay just can’t refuse. His generational athletic abilities combined with excellent size and coverage skills create a potentially game wrecking safety at the next level. He could improve his run defense and has some occasional struggles in man coverage but overall should be a great NFL player.

#20 Denver Broncos – Matthew Golden (WR, Texas)

Matthew Golden is a great player and a future top WR in the NFL. The run to the podium to select this guy. I wouldn’t be surprised at all if he gets picked way before this. Despite average size, he makes up for it with impressive speed, route running, and ball skills. He does lack some of the dynamic skills that are possessed by top NFL WR’s but is so tough and dependable teams will be willing to look past it. Bo Nix needs a top target and Sean Payton delivers with a stud in Golden.

#21 Pittsburg Steelers – Tyler Shough (QB, Louisville)

This would be a big surprise on draft night. Shough is a QB most casual fans have never even heard of. He has great character, size and decent athleticism. His dependability and experience should be big factors in Mike Tomlin making this pick. He is very old and can struggle under pressure but does have good arm talent. Shough is a rising prospect throughout the pre-draft process. Some will ask: why would they pass on Sheduer? The answer is character and not taking such an unbelievable amount of sacks as Sheduer.

#22 LA Chargers – Kenneth Grant (DT, Michigan)

Grant reunites with his old college coach, John Harbaugh. Grant has great athletic tools that he combines with his massive frame. Scouts compare him to Dexter Lawrence which makes Grant such an exciting prospect. He provides needed run defense to the Chargers defense and pass rush upside at the nose tackle position. Grant has shown flashes of greatness but overall has been inconsistent.

#23 Green Bay Packers – Tetairoa McMillan (WR, Arizona)

McMillan or TMac possesses rare ball skills and size. However, average athleticism makes it more difficult for him to separate from CB’s, especially at the NFL level. TMac is basically Drake London with less athleticism. The Packers are in need of a WR1 and TMac can provide that. In the red zone, he can be a real weapon with his massive catch radius. Say hello to Jordan Love’s new best friend for the next 4 years or more.

#24 Minnesota Vikings – TreVeyon Henderson (RB, Ohio State)

The Vikings could use some help at RB. Although they did just trade for Jordan Mason, a potential X-factor at RB could make a real difference for their explosive offense. They just signed several O-linemen in free agency and put their run blocking skills to use with a athletic, powerful runner like Henderson. I made this mock before the Mason trade so they could pivot to a player like DT Walter Nolen who provides a extremely high ceiling.

#25 – Houston Texans – Josh Simmons (OT, Ohio State)

After trading away Laremy Tunsil, the Texans NEED help at OT. Their O-line was already terrible but just got significantly worse. Simmons would provide instant relief at the left offensive tackle position and could protect CJ Stroud’s blindside for years to come. If Simmons didn’t get injured during the college season, he was on track to be picked in the top 10 or top 15. He flashed excellent pass blocking skills but could improve his run blocking.

#26 LA Rams – Shedeur Sanders (QB, Colorado)

Finally. The player who gets so much media attention is picked. What a relief for the Sander family not only for Sheduer to be picked in the first round but also be picked by LA. Sean McVay could make a real difference in Sheduer’s development and hopefully turn him into the QB of the future for the Rams. The Rams are clearly looking towards their future past Matthew Stafford (almost traded him) and Sanders could sit for a couple years similar to Jordan Love before starting. Honestly a win-win for team and player here.

#27 Baltimore Ravens – Kelvin Banks Jr. (OT, Texas)

A slightly overrated OT prospect finally comes off the board at pick #27. The Ravens need some help on the O-line and Banks could instantly help them at both OG/OT. There is not much to say other than it is a good pick. Fills a need and is good value.

#28 Detroit Lions – Shemar Stewart (EDGE, Texas A&M)

This would be a very interesting pick. Shemar Stewart could be the next Myles Garrett. His athleticism and size shows insane potential. This could be an absolute steal for the Lions at this point. The problem with Stewart is his lack of production in college. He had a measly 4 sacks. He showed some very promising flashes but could be a total bust at the next level. He reminds me a lot of Tyree Wilson who the Raiders picked with the number #7 pick a few years ago. They both have boom or bust potential and will take time to develop. Wilson has so far been a bust but is developing into a solid player. Stewart could go a lot earlier than this too. Aiden Hutchinson could use some help putting some pressure on the QB and another star EDGE would do just that. Plus Stewart is an excellent run defender. Stewart is a ‘almost’ player.

#29 Washington Commanders – Mike Green (EDGE, Marshall)

An explosive edge rusher with character issues, Green could go a lot higher than this or maybe lower. He led college football in sacks (17 sacks) and had a very good year statistically. He was playing worse competition than most top edge rushers because he did go to Marshall. Green is still a good player and the Commanders could use some D-line help after losing Jonathan Allen. Could be a steal.

#30 Buffalo Bills – Malaki Starks (S, Georgia)

Just a solid pick. A NFL scout has described Starks as the ‘safest pick in the draft’ because he will be a good player wherever he is drafted. Starks doesn’t possess amazing athletic abilities but is just an overall great player. The Bills need a lot of help in the secondary and they are elated Starks fell to them.

#31 Kansas City Chiefs – Grey Zabel (OG, North Dakota State)

Zabel is another player who could go a lot earlier than this. I could see the Seahawks being very interested in Zabel. The Chiefs need O-linemen after trading Joe Thuney and getting destroyed in the Super Bowl by their pass rush. Zabel is a athletic, tough player who should be a Day 1 starter at guard. Just a good player. Could be another steal here.

#32 Philadelphia Eagles – James Pearce Jr. (EDGE, Tennessee)

The Eagles can pretty much draft whatever position they want here. That’s how good they are and how much depth they have. Pearce would replace Josh Sweat at edge rusher with his excellent athletic abilities. The thing that pushes Pearce down the board is his character issues and run stopping ability. Character issues didn’t stop the Eagles from drafting Jalen Carter a couple years ago and the value here is just too good. Another player that fits a similar description would be Walter Nolen.
