Miami Dolphins Owner Stephen Ross decides to fire HC Mike McDaniel for a chance at a different HC. Cough, cough. JOHN HARBAUGH! Expect them to make a big push for Harbaugh. It looks to me like Harbaugh’s top three choices should be the Giants, Falcons, and Dolphins. Both the Falcons and Dolphins might allow their next HC to have input on their next GM. Also, the Dolphins are interviewing a long time co-worker of John’s for the GM position to add to the intrigue.
This is also a very interesting shake up for the OC options. McDaniel is unlikely to get another chance to be a HC right away, meaning he is the new top OC option. Teams with vacant OC spots should be targeting him, HC candidates could be aiming to team up with him at their next spot, and even teams in the playoffs can get excited about him. For example, the Seahawks are very likely to lose their OC, Klint Kubiak, as he will be hired as a HC. McDaniel could be a great fit. Exciting stuff.
