As the NFL Regular Season comes to an end, the off season and draft season have officially begun. Coaches are being fired, we are in the midst of the College Football Playoffs, and the start of the NFL playoffs. What more could you ask for as a football fan?
The first 18 picks in the 2026 NFL Draft have officially been set. They are as follows:
- Las Vegas Raiders
- New York Jets
- Arizona Cardinals
- Tennessee Titans
- New York Giants
- Cleveland Browns
- Washington Commanders
- New Orleans Saints
- Kansas City Chiefs
- Cincinnati Bengals
- Miami Dolphins
- Dallas Cowboys
- LA Rams (via ATL)
- Baltimore Ravens
- Tampa Bay Buccaneers
- NY Jets (via IND)
- Detroit Lions
- Minnesota Vikings
Notable Observations:
- Several of last years Super Bowl contenders in the top 15 picks including both the Chiefs and Commanders in the top 10.
- The contending Rams owning 2 first round picks including #13 overall.
- This draft has a very weak draft class, teams will look to next year for better talent. This means teams will value next years picks over this years, so we could see a lot of trades. Also, we may see low value positions (RB, S, LB) taken earlier than usual.
- Unless Dante Moore declares, we may only see one QB taken in the first round. This leaves teams like the Jets waiting until next year for a potential solution.
Overall, this is a weak draft class and we continue to see the same bad franchises at the top of the draft order, specifically those with poor ownership (Jets).
